I used to have this flatmate who always said ‘Sharing is caring’. Actually, she hanged passive-aggressive signs like this on the kitchen’s walls. Anyway, the phrase came to me looking at the images of some pretty wealthy Catholic Saints.
Let me explain, the first Christians who were believed to be saints – for the good they’ve done in life – were found buried in Rome’s catacombs during the Medieval Ages. The bodies were covered in jewellery after their death (in a very Egiptian way).
The bodies became relics and were spread across Europe to combat the religious reform. Now, their images and stories are in the book by the historian Paul Koudounaris.
Beware, the dead bodies will make you style jealous.
