At the XIX century, cities like Paris and London were full of enjoyments to the eyes. It was an exciting period to just wander around the streets and observe the world. The past time is typical of the flâneur, The men stroll the streets while the women amused themselves in the department stores. This is the world that inspired Hermès new exhibition at Saatchi Gallery.
The maison may be ancient, but the exhibition is a brilliant display of digital technology. The viewer is invited to stroll Paris’ streets and have a peek in the luxurious world of Hermès. One of the interactive bits is the floor where you stumble on digital passerbyers and can hear their conversations.
You are also invited to find forgotten objects in a magical café, do some window shopping and have a peek in stranger’s houses. There’s a bit of Beauty and the Beast in the setting with magical and singing objects as the stars of the show.
If you can’t wait to see it yourself, hurry! The exhibition ends May 2nd.
