Start booking your trip for Italy because Giorgio Armani just revealed big plans. The designer is investing € 50 million in a space he bought in Milan last year. Nestlé’s old factory will be transformed into the new Armani head office and an exhibition space. The space will have a permanent exhibition with the label’s 40 year archive and it will also receive external exhibitions. The Silos is said to be a Tate Modern for the city of Milan.
The idea has been in the designer’s mind for quite sometime now. The venue will have a big role on the Expo Milano 2015 as Armani was named ambassador for the event.
On the name, Armani decided to keep Silos because of its relation to food which is essential for life.
The Silos will be launched on April 30 with a runway show to mark the opening of the Expo.
