Scandinavian design firm Snøhetta – responsible for the new Norwegian banknotes -used its powers for good and illustrated some cool spots in Olso.

First, go for a river walk. Oslo’s urban river Akerselva is perfect to go for a swim or get to know one of the 54 artists who work there.

If you are into healthy food, go have a bite at the Norwegian Centre for Design and Architecture aka DogA. There you can find fresh vegan food, healthy smoothies and gluten-free cakes. The place is also famous for its Christmas Market.

Jazz lovers should check out the Frank Znort Quartet, a jazz-punk band, that plays every Sunday at riverside jazz club Blà.

Finally, outdoorsy types will enjoy a visit to the recreational area Nordmarka just outside the city. Perfect to go cycling during the summer or cross-country skiing in the winter.
