Honestly, I love to travel but I always dread the airport and plane bit. It’s just hours of your life lost in this none-place.
In spite of my personal feeling about being forced to stay too close to a complete set of strangers, I hear that some people actually like the experience.
In the beginning, airplane travel was so considered luxury and people would get dressed-up to go to the airport. Hey, you could even smoke inside the plane.
Maybe it’s in honour of those glamorous days that a wave of airplane inspired spots have been opening around the world. First, the MW Nails at the Old Spitafields Market in London. The nail salon offers a first class experience with broad chairs and all window seats. Even the price table is inspired by the flight time board.
On the other side of the Atlantic, a pub called Jet Lag opened in São Paulo, Brazil. Although it is less literal than the salon, the bar is also inspired by airplanes. The DJ booth looks like a pilot cabin and the staff dresses like flight attendants.
It really does seems that people are willing to spend more time in a plane than necessary. Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts.
