I’m sorry if you thought feminism was a thing of the past. The truth is that doesn’t matter if Facebook identifies 100 different types of gender, females are still seen as unequals. Emma Watson became the face of this new wave of feminism and Chanel raised the flag last PFW. But it’s not the end of the fight.
Elle UK December’s issue – featuring Emma Watson, of course – is completely dedicated to feminism. The magazine comes out the same time as London’s Design Museum launches it’s new exhibition Fashion Women Power. The exhibition will show how royals, CEOs, models, etc have used fashion as a tool to define their position in the world. The long list of women honoured features Naomi Campbell, Charlotte Olympia, Vivienne Westwood, Anna Hidalgo (Mayor of Paris) and Livia Firth.
Hey, this is such a current issue that British Prime Minister David Cameron just refused to wear the Elle Feminism t-shirt. And we though we were past this… Feminism is the ultimate season trend!
