This Summer, the Fashion and Textile Museum in London is having an exhibition on the rebozo, a traditional Mexican garment of womenswear. The type of shawl is attached to womens’ lives from the birth to death.
Traditionally the rebozo is made of wool but more expensive pieces can be found in silk.
The whole gallery embraced Mexican spirit with music, bright colours and spaces that recreate an ideal image of the pueblos.
Last century rebozos share the exhibition with items that represent a new wave of Mexican fashion designers like Carmen Rion, Carla Fernández and Lydia Lavin.
The rediscovery of the rebozo and Burberry’s most desired blanket maybe it’s a sign that winter is going to be all about comfort!
